A concussion is a type of traumatic brain injury caused by a bump, blow, or jolt to the head or by a hit to the body that causes the head and brain to move rapidly back and forth. This sudden movement can cause the brain to bounce around or twist in the skull, creating chemical changes in the brain and sometimes stretching and damaging brain cells. (Centers for Disease Control). Not all concussions include loss of consciousness. Concussion can result in a wide variety of symptoms including cognitive problems, difficulties regulating emotions, and a host of physical and sensory problems including, but not limited to, headache, nausea, body pain, visual problems, GI issues, abnormal cold or sweating, poor balance, slowed reaction time, sleep disruptions, and muscle spasms.

I am delighted to offer High Performance Neurofeedback (HPN) treatment for post-concussion syndrome and other conditions related to brain wave destabilization.  HPN is being used successfully in even very difficult conditions including with former NFL players who suffer from post-concussion syndrome, traumatic brain injury, and chronic traumatic encephalopathy and with Retired Navy SEALs and Retired Marines with symptoms of post-traumatic stress, traumatic brain injury, and chronic traumatic encephalopathy. Over 80% of clients who are treated with HPN for post-concussion syndrome, traumatic brain injury, post-traumatic stress disorder and anxiety say that they experience very meaningful changes.  And these changes are generally enduring. It is thought that this occurs as a natural result of the brain regaining stabilization and developing a natural resistance to returning to a dysfunctional state.
